About “The Flip Side”
By
widgetshow
The Flip Side, was created out of a need for educating those who wanted to create widgets for the Mac OSX platform. Many people had been making widgets including myself, without a real instruction based forum. There were many widget showcase sites, with forums, for support however, I wanted a place where, other beginner widget designers could learn the basics of programming these widgets and share them together. With the current release of Dashcode Beta, users have been able to create widgets using a series of templates which is amazing. Our purpose is to take those templates, those ideas and expand on them and transform them into something amazing.
The podcast, allows us to gain insight from other widget desingers and programmers from all over the globe. We talk with large companies who have implemented widgets to individuals, who made something especially cool or usefull. Now with the latest and greatest iPhone release, people are now able to make there widget available as an online application for the iPhone.
We also talk about the things that make widgets great, such as implementing CSS, Javascript and of course great widget design. We have been serving the widget community for a year now and its amazing to see the response. If your curious about widgets or making apps for the iphone then this is the place for you, a place for beginner widget designers to start to learn how to make these amazing little widgets.
We do a monthly show and aim to bring you great tutorials that cover the essentials of widget creation. We work with other widget designers and comanies to show you their strategies. We also aim to bring you objective coverage of news stories related to widget development and anouncements.
